Do you ever have a day when you just can’t get yourself moving? Or maybe sometimes you feel out-of-touch and in a daze? Ginger essential oil is one of our favorite remedies for weariness of all kinds.
Ginger (Zingiber officionale) has various actions, but they all seem to come down to one thing: movement. We like to use Ginger in topical blends for sore muscles or arthritis, in respiratory blends when we need to clear the lungs of mucus, and in blends to help with circulation. Beyond that, this oil is great for those times when we lack the motivation to take action. It can act as a catalyst for our will and quiet down voices of discouragement within, so we can infuse our actions with strength and confidence.
As you use Ginger to help create more movement where you need it—in your body, mind, or both—allow yourself to be moved by Ginger. As you inhale the warm and spicy scent, track the feeling of movement in your body. Maybe just notice the movement in your chest as your breathe, then become aware of your heart pumping blood to all of your cells. Take a moment to ponder these questions:
- What moves me?
- How does my body want to move?
Use this as inspiration to take action on a project you’ve been avoiding, look at a situation that you feel stuck in from a new perspective, and find fun ways to move your body through exercise, dance, sports, or meditation-movement practices.
